Boing Boing Animals Wiki:Policy
This page outlines the policies for the Official Boing Boing Animals Wiki (hereon "Boing Boing Animals Wiki"). The policy may be modified or revised at any time.
Content
All users and content on this wiki must comply with wiki.gg (indie.io)'s Terms of Service.
Boing Boing Animals Wiki is an informational wiki about the game Boing Boing Animals. Published content must be relevant to Boing Boing Animals or the wiki itself and should not contain any fan theories, fanfiction or the like. Fan content is only permitted on a user's subpage, e.g. Special:MyPage/SUBPAGE NAME
.
Page creation
Mainspace pages should be created with some visible content on them. At minimum, they should contain at least one sentence related to the article's subject, e.g. "Carrot is a food in Boing Boing Animals." Mainspace articles created with no content in them will be subject to deletion.
Images
Images uploaded to the wiki should be intended for use on mainspace articles, templates and/or meta (project) pages.
- Fanart and other images uploaded solely for personal use are not permitted and will be deleted upon notice. This includes uploading an image that is only intended to be used on your own userpage.
- Fanart can be shared in the
#fanart
channel in the Boing Boing Animals Discord server.
Leaks
Leaked content is not permitted anywhere on the wiki, including the mainspace, userpages and user subpages.
Content published on this wiki must be:
- Publicly accessible or attainable in-game through regular gameplay.
- Shared in a publicly visible channel in the Boing Boing Animals Discord server.
- Publicly available on the official Boing Boing Animals website.
- Posted on an official Boing Boing Animals social media platform, including but not limited to:
If any information in the game is shared regarding upcoming or unused content, a link to the source must be included as a citation, including the source of the verification for non-official references. You may only share as much information as the source provides, with exception of using basic identifiers to describe what is being shown, e.g. the presumed species of the animal or type based on its physical description that most players would intuitively be able to identify for themselves.
For example, if a picture of a slime not growable in the game were shared on a Boing Boing Animals Instagram post, you may link the post and mention that the slime is featured in the picture, but not currently in the game. You cannot share the codex description of the slime or the gifts it provides if this information was not included in the post.
User conduct
- Assume good faith, especially to newer users. While the wiki follows a specific format for many of its pages, newer users may not "get it right" the first time around. If a new editor has made a lot of edits that need to be "cleaned up", you may wish to reach out to the user directly to provide some guidance.
- When reverting or significantly revising content, you are highly encouraged to use the edit summary to explain the change.
- If content is constantly being changed back and forth, start a longer form discussion with the user on the article's talk page. If the user is on Discord, you can also discuss edits on the
#wiki
channel in the Boing Boing Animals Discord server.

- Users should not edit another user's profile (userpage) except in the case of general wiki maintenance, e.g. removing a link to a file that has been deleted so it does not show up in the Pages with broken file links category.
Warnings and bans
Users who violate the policies will generally have their content reverted or deleted. They will receive at least one warning (exceptions below) and a block after subsequent violations, depending on the severity and circumstance of the offense.
Vandalism
Obvious signs of vandalism are subject to an immediate temporary block without warning. Repeat acts of vandalism will result in incrementally longer blocks, which may be increased to infinite depending on the severity of the offense.
Obvious signs of vandalism include but are not limited to:
- Blanking a series of mainspace articles.
- Spamming, including replacing a mainspace article with spam content or creating pages with spam titles.
- Adding or replacing pages with offensive, hateful or threatening content, including uploading offensive images.
- Publishing NSFW content.
- A large amount of "nonsense" edits that are not publicly visible but spam the page history (typically for the purposes of increasing one's edit count without making any actual contributions).
